Course Description
The purpose of this class is to provide patrol officers with the interviewing fundamentals to identify and target criminal organizations, groups and gangs who transit illegal drugs throughout the United States. The course focuses on interviewing techniques that lead to the detection and interdiction of illicit drugs and other contraband items such as weapons, human trafficking, and bulk cash. As drug and money trafficking has been shown to have a nexus to terrorism, it is essential that law enforcement officers understand the best approach to recognize suspicious individuals and activities during routine traffic stops that could lead to major drug arrests.
This is a four day training program designed for officers who conduct various short term encounters with the public, including officers who conduct traffic stops, respond to service calls, strike team officers focusing on street level criminal organizations. While the course is centered on the importance of treating all people with dignity and respect, officers will gain an understanding of how to uncover drug trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, and other serious criminal activities that threaten the security of the United States.
