Course Description
Adapted from the University of Kansas’ Work Group for Community Health and Development’s Building Capacity for Collaborative Action Training Curriculum, this one day training provides an evidence based, in-depth look at developing a model for change for your community.
A framework or model describes the underlying logic–it outlines a plan or pathway from our current situation to a better one. We must have some notions of what that end goal is and what has to happen to get there. It can be of tremendous help to your group if together with other members, you give definition, both in language and in a visual way, to your work. In a logic model or framework, we put down on paper our ideas about the probable sequence of events, outlining the inputs and outputs that lead to intended effects. We show how the efforts fit together to support the mission and how results and feedback affect further action.
Most importantly, when completed, how do you know your logic model “works”? In this training you will learn how to test the logic within your model and understand how to fix the issues.
